Surrey County Council’s Minerals and Waste Policy Team is responsible for preparing development plan documents and monitoring the performance of planning policies relating to minerals and waste management development to ensure, inter alia, that there is sufficient supply of minerals and adequate sustainable waste management capacity in Surrey. The team is also responsible for coordinating and responding to National and local planning consultations on behalf of the Minerals and Waste Planning Authority, safeguarding minerals resources and waste management facilities in Surrey, and working closely with neighbouring planning authorities and the minerals and waste management industry.
